Winner of the Salzburg AMREF Marathon Christian Pflügl (LCAV doubrava) from Austria finished in 2:23:32 hours and could also celebrate the victory of the Austrian Championships. Also his female colleague Ursula Bredlinger (LT Burgenland Eisenstadt) from Austria won in 2:49:20 the 42,195 kilometre distance and won the Austrian Championships.

Also the SPARKASSE Half marathon was a highlight of the day. Ethiopian Gebremedhin Gidena, ambassador of aid organisation AMREF, won the half-marathon in 1:04:46 hours. Also an ambassador of AMREF, the Kenyan Lucy Karimi was happy about her victory in 1:16:06.

Racing wheel chair driver and Athens Paralympics winner Thomas Geierspichler finished the half-marathon in fantastic 30:09 minutes. „This was like a sightseeing tour, no car on the roads in Salzburg, easy to go for me. I would like to have this more often", he told.
This year a Quater-marathon take place the first time at the Salzburg AMREF Marathon. At this Race two ahtletes from Salzburg gain the victory. Günther Matzinger won the race in 38:28. Ath the womens race Christine Wimmer won in 48:03.
